Client: JLG Design
Site Name: Castle Hills House, School Lane, Eaton Socon, St.Neots, Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, PE19 8GW
Site Type: Housing
Services Provided: Preliminary Ecological Appraisal Report (PEAR)
Potential protected habitats and species on site triggered the requirement for a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) to identify ecological constraints and inform appropriate mitigation and enhancement measures.
The Preliminary Ecological Appraisal by Elton Ecology identified one building as having moderate suitability for Bat Roosts and Nesting Birds. The development was not expected to significantly impact habitats or protected/notable species.
Elton Ecology suggested that there was a very low risk of disturbing bats during the construction of the single-storey extension. It was recommended that a non-licensed Precautionary Working Method Statement for bats would be produced and adhered to during works.
Elton Ecology’s reports allowed the development to continue with no delays and constraints from an Ecological point of view, proving beneficial for the client.
Huntingdonshire District Council granted planning permission on the first submission with conditions.
Elton Ecology are a Registered Practice of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), committing us to industry leading standards of professional practice. We deliver the best outcomes for our clients and reduce risk for planning applications.
