About The Role

Location: Castle Donington, East Midlands / Flexible working

Salary: £32,000 – £43,100 (dependent on skills and experience)

Contract Type: Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week

At Elton Ecology Ltd, we are a leading ecological consultancy dedicated to providing expert environmental solutions to planners, developers, councils and NGOs across England. Our mission is to support sustainable development by delivering high-quality ecological assessments and environmental consultancy services. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Ecologist to help drive our ecology offering forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking ecological surveys including UKHab and protected species surveys.
  • Producing technical reports including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal and Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA).
  • Conducting Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
  • Working with Arboriculture Consultants to deliver project work.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Close collaboration with other Senior members of the team.
  • Deliver work to technical standards and act within the CIEEM Professional Code of Conduct.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant degree in Ecology or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of ecology, legislation, and best practice guidelines in England.
  • Membership of appropriate professional body (e.g., CIEEM) or willingness to apply.
  • Experience in Biodiversity Net Gain, or keen to develop skills in this area.
  • Ability to undertake UKHab Surveys independently and/or holding protected species licence(s).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Marketing Assistant: About The Role

Job Overview

Join a mission-driven consultancy growing fast in the ecological and arboricultural sector. We’re looking for a dynamic and organised Marketing Assistant to help drive our growth as we scale past £1m+ annual revenue.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their marketing career who’s looking to gain hands-on experience across digital, content, and campaign management in a purpose-led industry.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, responsibilities include:

  • Support creation and scheduling of content across LinkedIn, email, and our website
  • Help coordinate marketing campaigns and BD initiatives (case studies, brochures, thought leadership)
  • Maintain and improve our CRM and mailing lists
  • Assist with SEO, analytics tracking, and reporting on marketing performance
  • Research competitors, sector trends, and potential partners
  • Liaise with internal teams to source and draft content (survey findings, project case studies, staff stories)
  • Support tender submissions, proposal formatting, and bid assets
  • Assist in organising events, webinars, and awards entries

About You

  • Some experience in marketing, content creation, or communications (placement, internship, or first role)
  • Excellent written English and strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable using tools like Salesforce, Canva, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, WordPress, or similar
  • Confident working independently, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred but not essential
  • Bonus: interest in ecology, environment, sustainability, or the built environment
